Addictive Kale Salad | ケールサラダ 


Not a regular item sold at supermarkets…at least in Japan.

Not a regular item eaten…at least in Japan…..but as to my husband’s knowledge; it has been used for ‘healthy vegetable green juice’ (sold as stick powder) but not may Japanese do know the presence of Kale in the stick powder.

Anyway, Kale was a common vegetable at least in when I used to live in Los Angeles and  quite delighted to see it quite often at vegetable stores these days.

Not much of a recipe below…it’ just a Kale salad but for ‘Kale lovers’ – yes! I think it is an addictive salad.










Addictive Kale Salad | ケールサラダ

Kale Salad

  • 5 medium size kale leafs
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • Steamed sweet potato
  • Red radish
  • 2 slice bacons, strip fried
  • Lemon Juice (1/2 lemon)
  • Salt 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive Oil, Salt & Pepper


  1. Cut the kale leaves into thin strips, adding lemon juice and salt to let the leaves soften a bit.
  2. Cut the avocado, slice the sweet potato, red radish; set aside.
  3. Cut the bacon into thin strips and slowly sauté the bacon until it becomes crispy bacon bits.
  4. Blend the kale with the rest of the vegetables and crispy bacon.


Kale Salad | ケールサラダ

  • ケール・・・・・・・5枚ばかり
  • アボカド・・・・・・1個
  • サツマイモ・・・・・蒸かしたものを中1個
  • 赤大根(サラダ)
  • ベーコン・・・・・2枚
  • 塩・・・・・・・・・小匙1/2
  • レモン果汁・・・・・半個分
  • オリーブオイル、塩こしょう


  1. ケール葉は5ミリほどの千切りにして葉の繊維を壊す為に塩とレモン汁でブレンドしておく。
  2. サツマイモはふかします。赤大根は薄くスライス。アボカドはカットしておきます。
  3. ベーコンは低温でカリカリになるまで炒めます。
  4. 素材をすべてサラダボウルに入れ、オリーブオイル、塩こしょうで味を整えながら飾り付けしていきます。
