Things you love and done during one’s childhood, seem to come back over the course of your life. ‘Sewing’and ‘patchwork’ had been one of my favorite things to do at home,
I am opening a ‘my own’ craft shop within this website. The craft goods are all (my) ‘handmade’, fabric art, knitting, crochet and patchwork, etc.etc. which I love investing time on to add a spice of creativity into my daily life.
This is an apron is made from large tea towel fabric, beautiful flower collage designed by an Artist, Starla M. Halfmann. It’s a relatively small apron made to fit a junior high girl size (Japanese children size 160), see my niece reference photo below. It is available at my Etsy site, if anyone is interested in purchasing this item.
Starting to feel autum-ish….. as the summer heats slowly starts to shy away as the days pass through September. A tea cosy with a cute pink canary attached, which has been released at my ETSY site. 秋めいてきました。 造るものも少し秋〜冬へと頭が自然に変わっていきます。 「カナリアとティーコーザー」。 ETSYのサイトに出ています。 保存 保存 保存
I’ve been doing sewing lately with fabrics which I’ve kept and stored for long. Here are some of my DIY Aprons which I just opened a small shop at ETSY for anyone interested to purchase. All items are all handmade and one of a kind.
Summer DIY…… This is a tea towel (purchased at Antropologie Honolulu by an artist – Holly Frean) converted into an apron for my niece, who has stared to take interest in cooking.
It’s still the rainy season but the weather man is warning us for again, an Indian Summer this year. (As I recall….it’s been extremely hot for the past couple of years, so what’s new?) Anyway, my mind is just getting set for the coming hot days, as well as getting (trying not to forget), getting rid of some of my archived fabrics, lying deep under the sewing pantry. So…I found a thin silky linen cloth, which probably was an over-sized scarf. Trying to keep the beautiful vertical weaved pattern, I turned it into a elastic skirt, a Thailand-ish wrap around skirt image. Not much of sewing techniques required for any of my DIY skirts. Second was again an over-sized scarf, I think it was a present from a colleague who went to East Europe. This is a circular skirt made out from a 360 degree cut out.
Since I’ve been doing a lot of Instagram photos lately, this is a post to share my photos, perhaps may show a glimpse of my daily lifestyle here in Tokyo.
My fabric collection box has been storing a lot of my husband’s old neckties. A lot of his ties having had retired couple of years ago had been recycled to our son but some pretty and pristine HERMES ties
