On a cloudless sunny day………we decided to adventure north, about a two hour or so drive up north which will take you to Gunma prefecture – one of the leading producers and suppliers of vegetables in the country and Tokyo district.

Vacations are meant for relaxing and ‘do whatever you feel the day you wake up’. Not much plans during our Honolulu vacation but since we brought out trekking shoes all the way from home, so we decided to take a walk at ‘Manoa Falls (マノアの滝)’
I’m on an early summer vacation at Honolulu thus my blogging habits has again gone sluggish. It’s been almost a decade since my last visit but the weather, the wind, the air; all seems forever lasting.

This ceremony was first posted last year for our very first grandchild and time has come for our second grandchild, now turned over 100 days in which to celebrate her first taste of food – a traditional Japanese ritual called ‘okuisome’.
Time flies…… Time flies so fast quite unbelievable and our grandson is already ‘ONE’ today to celebrate his very first birthday.
This post may come as a ‘shocking post’ but to emphasize that it is NOT a PET TURTLE as to being one of the fine delicacies in our eastern part of the world, the soft-shelled turtle (which we call it suppon in Japanese) considered equivalent to medicine from ancient Chinese history.
Rice cakes – we call it ‘mochi’ is eaten most everywhere in Japan at New Years.
