I’ve been doing a lot of craftwork lately and I’ve finally managed to renew my ‘craft shop’ at ETSY | CraftsvillaTOKYO with new collections of handmade BAGs. Most of my craftwork are ‘fabric arts’, a lot of sewing, a lot of stitches and sashiko works. Just recently was lucky to encounter some Kantha fabrics from India which has inspired my creativity to do something more different, think different. All off my craftwork are a one of kind and perhaps as with any artist, motivation and idea are given for just one item and then to moves on to the next. Links from this site will jump to my ETSY site, CraftsvillaTOKYO. Here are some of the recent craftwork….see more to visit my CraftsvillaTOKYO shop.
Couple of months have passed (already) since I purchased this dream machine ‘Bernina Sewing Machine’, the 530 series. Apart from ordinary sewing, I fell in love with this machine wanting to go free motion
Things you love and done during one’s childhood, seem to come back over the course of your life. ‘Sewing’and ‘patchwork’ had been one of my favorite things to do at home,
I am opening a ‘my own’ craft shop within this website. The craft goods are all (my) ‘handmade’, fabric art, knitting, crochet and patchwork, etc.etc. which I love investing time on to add a spice of creativity into my daily life.
I’ve been doing sewing lately with fabrics which I’ve kept and stored for long. Here are some of my DIY Aprons which I just opened a small shop at ETSY for anyone interested to purchase. All items are all handmade and one of a kind.
It’s still the rainy season but the weather man is warning us for again, an Indian Summer this year. (As I recall….it’s been extremely hot for the past couple of years, so what’s new?) Anyway, my mind is just getting set for the coming hot days, as well as getting (trying not to forget), getting rid of some of my archived fabrics, lying deep under the sewing pantry. So…I found a thin silky linen cloth, which probably was an over-sized scarf. Trying to keep the beautiful vertical weaved pattern, I turned it into a elastic skirt, a Thailand-ish wrap around skirt image. Not much of sewing techniques required for any of my DIY skirts. Second was again an over-sized scarf, I think it was a present from a colleague who went to East Europe. This is a circular skirt made out from a 360 degree cut out.
Since I’ve been doing a lot of Instagram photos lately, this is a post to share my photos, perhaps may show a glimpse of my daily lifestyle here in Tokyo.
My fabric collection box has been storing a lot of my husband’s old neckties. A lot of his ties having had retired couple of years ago had been recycled to our son but some pretty and pristine HERMES ties
A handmade baby mattress for our little granddaughter…already turning just a little less than a month old (yet). The center fabric is designed and fabricated; made by my daughter during her young art center days.
It’s been a while since we visited Bangkok but our choice of fabrics are finally sewn to become…our new line of ‘tablecloths’ using Jim Thompson fabrics.
